In Nepal it is difficult to find any quality recreation centers for the children who are economically challenged and for oppressed community children.

Vision : To provide safe haven for the children where they can enjoy and have good recreation as well as learn extra curriculum activities.

Objectives of CWC

  • To look out for talents of the children and provide every possible means of supporting them.
  • Provide better quality entertainment in healthy environment.
  • Anti-smoking, anti-drugs awareness programme from time to time.
  • Implement basic computer classes and other extra-curricular activities.
  • Saitya Sai bhajans (devotional songs) or spiritual and moral lectures once a week.
  • Teach traditional musical instruments for the sake of cultural preservation.
  • Parents adult literacy classes.
  • Providing scholarship to bright students who are from poor economic background.
  • Physical health check-up programme twice a year.
 
   
   
 

Activities carried in C WC.:
The main focus of the welfare center is to provide them with proper guidance so that in the future they will become very important and useful citizens of Nepal. Quality recreation as well as education is provided to socially and economically challenged children. Children are divided into two separate groups ranging from 4yrs to 7yrs known as Early Childhood group and from 8yrs to 12yrs Alternative Schooling Group. The former group learns the basic alphabets in English and Nepali, nursery rhymes, colourings and playing in groups. The later group consists mainly of drop-outs, and are provided with text books supplied by the Education Dept., Government of Nepal where English, Nepali, Math, Science is taught. This Alternative Schooling Program is for the period of 3yrs and the children are being prepared for Grade VI to go to regular school. In case of children who are too old, they are sent to school after one year of non-formal school.

Children are taught dance and music twice a week and other activities like drawing, paper crafts are also taught. The children usually start coming to CWC by 9:30 am. Computer education is also taught twice a week, Sunday and Friday for ASP students. After the morning assembly, class begins at 11:00 am until 15:00 PM. There is a tiffin break at 1:30 PM . Normal routine ends at 3:00 PM.
